Solar yard lights & DJ event lighting under $300 compared
Illustration: Real Deal Meter
This shelf holds lights for two different jobs. The solar light is a motion-sensor security light for a wall, driveway or yard with no wiring; the two SHEHDS fixtures are event lights for DJs and weddings. Between those two, the choice is whether you want to wash a room in color or put moving beams over a dance floor.
Our pick: SHEHDS 8×12W RGBW Beam Moving Head Bar Light. Our pick is the SHEHDS beam bar, for a DJ adding movement: SHEHDS publishes its supply voltage, DMX modes, size and weight, and it runs on its built-in sound mode until you add a DMX controller. The trade-off is narrow shafts of light rather than a lit room, and it needs an outlet and a secure place to hang it. For wedding uplighting the battery set is the right tool, but confirm its runtime, and how many lights the listed price covers, before you order. Treat the solar light as a basic motion light, not an 80,000-lumen one.
A solar light with a motion sensor for a wall or yard with no wiring, sold under no brand name. The 80,000 lumens in its title would be about fifty 100-watt bulbs' worth by ENERGY STAR's yardstick, so read it as a label, not a measurement.
Eight 12-watt RGBW LEDs in a 42-inch, 16.5-pound bar with a 5° beam, 10- and 38-channel DMX modes and a built-in sound mode, per SHEHDS. It runs from a wall outlet and is made to be hung, which calls for a safety cable.
Battery pars with six 18-watt RGBWA+UV LEDs, a 40° beam and remote or app control, per SHEHDS, whose matching flight case charges six, eight or ten. The listing pictures eight in the case, but the price we track very likely buys fewer, so ask which option it is — and ask the runtime, which SHEHDS does not list.

Two jobs on one shelf
These three lights do not compete. The solar light is a security light for a wall, driveway or yard with no outlet nearby; its listing describes a solar street and wall light with a motion sensor. The two SHEHDS fixtures are event lights, and they do different jobs.
The beam bar is an effect light. SHEHDS lists eight 12-watt RGBW LEDs in a 42-inch bar powered from a wall outlet, with 10- and 38-channel DMX modes, a built-in sound mode and a 5° beam 1. Beam angle is the cone in which a light holds at least half its peak intensity 2, so 5° keeps each head a narrow shaft: movement over a dance floor, not light for a room.
The uplights do the opposite job. SHEHDS sells them as battery pars with six 18-watt RGBWA+UV LEDs and remote and app control, and pictures them as wash lighting 3; their 40° beam 4 spreads color across a wall or column, with no power cable to run. SHEHDS's matching flight case holds and charges six, eight or ten 5. For a wedding or a room, that is the tool; for a DJ's light show, the bar is.

The solar light's listing title claims 80,000 lumens. Lumens measure light output, not power 1; the IES defines the lumen as the unit of luminous flux, the flow of radiant energy weighted to a standardized visual response 23. ENERGY STAR's table puts a replacement for a 100-watt incandescent bulb at 1,600 lumens or more 1, so the claim is the light of about fifty of them. The FTC says an LED bulb gives 800 lumens on about 9 watts 4; at that rate, 80,000 lumens would draw roughly 900 watts. Read the number as a label, not a measurement.
On the SHEHDS lights, '8x12W' and '6x18W' count LEDs and their wattage rating 56, as in ADJ's '4 x 10-Watt' LEDs 7, and watts describe energy, not light 4. Makers that publish output give lux at a stated distance, one lux being one lumen per square meter 8, and the wattage label does not predict it: Chauvet DJ lists 1,372 lux at 2 m for its Freedom Par Hex-4 9 and ADJ lists 684 lux at 2 m for its Element Hex 7, both built on four 10-watt six-color LEDs. SHEHDS publishes no lux or lumen figure for either fixture here 56.
RGBWA+UV (SHEHDS writes RGBAW+UV) names the six emitter colors: red, green, blue, white, amber and ultraviolet 67.

Shopping for Light BulbsFederal Trade Commission, Consumer Advice— "lumens = brightness", "watts = energy"; "a traditional 60-watt incandescent bulb produces about 800 lumens of light" and "an LED (light-emitting diode) bulb that produces that same 800 lumens but uses only about 9 watts". What separates a good one from a bad one
For battery uplights, a runtime means little without its conditions. Chauvet DJ rates its Freedom Par Hex-4 at up to 8 hours with all colors on and up to 20 hours on one color 1; its manual says those times assume a limiter that lowers output when more than four colors are on 2. SHEHDS's page for the 6x18W uplight lists no runtime or battery capacity 3.
Control is the next split. DMX512 is the ANSI standard for sending control data from a controller to lighting equipment 4; wired fixtures are linked in a chain with DMX cable, each set to a starting address from 1 to 512 2. Wireless DMX carries that control by radio; ADJ builds 'WiFLY EXR wireless DMX' into its battery par 5. A handheld remote is different; Chauvet calls its own 'non-DMX' 1. SHEHDS's uplight page mentions remote and app control, not DMX 3; if they must follow your controller, ask.
Safety: SHEHDS lists a suspended installation for the beam bar 6, and Chauvet's manual tells owners to secure an overhead fixture with a safety cable 2. Neither SHEHDS page gives an IP rating, while SHEHDS sells separate pars labeled 'IP65 waterproof' for outdoor use 637, so keep these two indoors. The solar light's title says 'waterproof' but gives no IP rating.

Each price here is the one we last checked on that product’s own page, and each page says the date. All three are AliExpress listings: AliExpress quotes new accounts a lower “Welcome deal” price and runs store coupons on top, so you may be shown less than we list. The struck-through figures are the sellers’ own, each claiming around 70% off or more, and we have not seen any of them charged. None has moved by more than a few cents in our record, which starts on September 28 for the beam bar, October 2 for the uplights and October 4, 2026 for the solar light.
SHEHDS sells both fixtures in its own store as well. On October 10, 2026 it listed the beam bar at $157.25 from its US warehouse 1, a single uplight at $136.00 2 and the empty charging case at $340.00 3. So the $299.10 we track for the uplight listing is very unlikely to buy the eight-light case set its photo shows; ask the seller which option that price is for.
